BIFEM Writers’ Workshop

In 2016, BIFEM once again commits to building an informed critical culture around new music in Australia. As part of the BIFEM Music Writers’ Workshop, five emerging critics will receive expert mentoring from RealTime and Partial Durations across the festival. Participants will be published daily as part of the RealTime-sponsored new music blog Partial Durations. Selected reviews will subsequently appear in RealTime. Last year’s highly successful program led to participants continuing to write for RealTime and leading Australian media outlets.

Participants receive a festival pass and accommodation in Bendigo. Participants are expected to be in Bendigo from 5:30pm on Friday 2 September until 6:30pm on Sunday 4 September.

To apply, please provide a one-paragraph bio and a sample of music writing to Matthew Lorenzon at matthew.lorenzon@gmail.com by 5pm 1 August.
