3997-5 BIFEM 2017 MMASS banner

It’s happening again! As part of the festival’s ongoing support for informed critical culture, five emerging critics will receive expert mentoring throughout the Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music. Participants will be published daily as part of the RealTime-sponsored new music blog Partial Durations and selected reviews will subsequently appear in RealTime. As well as receiving a free pass to Australia’s most inspiring contemporary music festival, your writing will receive an uparalleled level of editorial attention.

As a participant you will receive a festival pass and accommodation in Bendigo. You will be expected to be in Bendigo from our initial workshop at 5:30pm on Friday 1 September until 6:30pm on Sunday 3 September. You will be expected to review two shows during the festival and your work will be workshopped during our regular workshops prior to publication.

To apply, please provide a one-paragraph bio and a sample of music writing to Matthew Lorenzon at matthew.lorenzon@gmail.com by 5pm 8 August.

(note that the deadline has been extended from 1 August)
